How's that background check system working out for you?
The murder of scores of people in an Orlando nightclub shows the futility of any sort of firearms background checks. The murderer was subject to a typical firearms background check on multiple occasions. Additionally, he was the subject of multiple FBI and Homeland Security investigations. On top of that, he was employed by a private company that also performed their own investigation that vetted his suitability as as security guard in a facility for juvenile delinquents.
Cleared on all counts and good to go.
Never mind that his father is a Taliban supporter and is currently running for political office in Afghanistan! Or that he has a history of domestic violence.
It seems the "can't we all just get along" attitude on self defense just isn't cutting it when it comes to Islamists bent on death and destruction.
At the same time, there are hundreds of known felons walking the streets of every major city in the USA carrying guns illegally, buying guns illegally, stealing guns illegally, killing illegally, raping illegally, selling drugs illegally, robbing illegally, ad nauseam.
When was that last time that Islamic Jihad was carried out in a Chicago or Compton gangland turf? It is plainly obvious why the murders took place in the soft underbelly of a gun free zone, and the victims were of a persuasion that typically eschew violence or guns of any kind for any purpose.
From my perspective it appears that those associating with Crips and Bloods are at far less risk from Islamic Terrorists than gun-fearing milk-toast enemies of the Constitution.
